Over the summer months, we’ll be meeting with community partners and spending more time outdoors and in the community.
Throughout the month of June, we visited festivals and craft shows to get new ideas for future events of interest to older adults. We attended the Age Friendly Conference on June 22nd to reconnect with seniors and seniors service providers. New community partnerships have been developed for 2023 and 2024 programs and events.
The Creative Age Art Studio indoor programs in the Dorchester Community Centre have been on hold during the month of July. August won’t be too busy but the September schedule is filling up. Penny Wearne and Kathy Smith will have a display booth at Back to the Garden Festival in August.
The new Creative Arts and Wellness Project co-sponsored with Museum London and London Middlesex Community Housing is funded by New Horizons for Seniors. The fall activities and programs will be announced in September 2022. New volunteers needed and appreciated.
Kathy has developed 2 additional online workshops for the Direct Message Research Project, funded by Canada Council for the Arts. They’ll be presented to research participants on August 2nd and August 4th.
Looking forward to new community collaborations and partnerships
