We had such great plans and things were rolling along like they do. We were completing all tasks and getting ready for a summer holiday break. We had lulled ourselves into a false sense of security.
Almost everything changed with a Public Health directive to shelter in place or isolate at home. COVID – 19 had arrived. Businesses, colleagues, friends and family members were asked to submit to voluntary lock-down. The virus put a stop to almost everything.
Looking back, I realize we were in shock for the first few weeks of our lock-down. The shock was followed by anxiety and confusion. We’re still uncertain about the possible aftershocks. Another spike? Global recession or depression? More social and political unrest?
One thing I know for sure. I’ll never return to a 9 to 5 office job. Contract work, flex hours and working from home all suit me just fine.
