One of the interests of those who are transitioning from full-time employment to full-time leisure is budgeting. With retirement now projected to last from twenty to even thirty years, we can safely say there is a massive change in the way we view our lifestyle choices and spending habits.

Years ago, retirement was seen as the time of life when people stopped their daily 9 to 5 grind and replaced it with a life of endless relaxation. That model is disappearing. Most of us want to stay healthy and engaged both our physical, financial and mental well-being. We don’t want to be bored.

I encourage people to Test Drive Your Retirement Income. Some worry about living a long time on a fixed income. They realize they’ve been addicted to shopping or spending money. I confess that I have spent far too much time in the Dollar Store. When anxieties surface, we have an opportunities for realistic problem solving.

A current and challenging pilot project is creating recipes for healthy and delicious meals on a food budget of $240 for 4 weeks or $60 per week (single person.)   With the help of Marlene Cornelis blog’  – I’m having fun and learning a lot. URBAN COTTAGE LIFE
