I’m so pleased the Municipality of Thames Centre (Ontario) received funding for 2019 creative aging programs, activities and events.
The program and events start in April with an intergenerational mural project at the Creative Age Art Studio. Throughout the summer months we’ll be teaching new skills during the summer arts camp June Seniors Month for local VON day clients to improve coordination, cognition and balance while lifting the mood of participants.
In the fall, Thames Centre local volunteers will organize community consultations along with a one day professional development conference and luncheon for Thames Centre and Middlesex County on Friday, September 13th 2019. The theme or topic is Building Bridges “Connecting communities and volunteers through creativity.”
….all ending with a public exhibit, performance and community celebration at BridgeFest in Thames Centre on the weekend of September 14th/15th.
Thanks to the Dorchester Lions Seniors Centre and Middlesex VON for hosting and the New Horizons for Seniors Canada Program for the funding.
